Curriculum Vitae

I was born on 8th October 1976, and I graduated in Medicine at University of Padua in 2001, where I specialized in Paediatrics in 2006, with subspecialty in Paediatric Neurology. Later, I did my PhD at University of Padua (“Medicina dello Sviluppo e Scienza della Programmazione”), and in 2010 – 2011 I did a II level Master in Epileptology at University of Ferrara.

I have been doing research in Neuroimmunology since 2010, with focus on immune-mediated encephalitis and epilepsies, contributing to the creation of a Neuroimmunology research group in Veneto, with prof. Giometto, dr. Zuliani, dr. Zoccarato, dr. De Gaspari. Dr.ssa Suppiej and dr. Nosadini.

I have been the coordinator of the Study Group on Autoimmune Epilepsies of the Italian League Against Epilepsy since 2014, and I have been part of the Neuroimmunology Study Group of the Italian Society of Paediatric Neurology since 2015.

In 2014 I took part to the foundation of the Italian Anti-NMDAR Encephalitis Working Group.

In 2016 I received the Italian National Scientific Qualification to Associate Professor of Paediatrics by MIUR.

At the moment, I work at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, University of Padua, where I coordinate the Paediatric Neurology and Neurophysiology programme.

I am a professor at the training programmes in Paediatrics, Child Neuropsychiatry and Rehabilitation of the University of Padua, where I teach Paediatric Neurology and Epilepsy.

I have co-authored over 90 indexed peer-reviewed articles and over 200 proceedings in Paediatrics, Paediatric Neurology, Epilepsy and Neuroimmunology.

My team and I actively work at both diagnostic and research levels in the field of paraneoplastic and autoimmune neurological syndromes. A group of encephalopathies has been demonstrated to be mediated by an autoimmune mechanism.
