Professor Giorgio Perilongo is Full Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Padua and Director of the Pediatric Division at the Department of Woman’s and Child’s Health at the University Hospital of Padua.
He graduated in Medicine and specialized in Pediatrics and Oncology at the University of Padua. He completed post-specialization fellowships in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and Pediatric Neuro-Oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (USA).
Throughout his career, he has held major clinical, academic, and institutional roles. He served as President of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), was a member of numerous national and international scientific committees, and coordinated multi-center clinical trials on pediatric liver and brain tumors. He also directed the Pediatric Residency Program and postgraduate Master’s programs in pediatric palliative care at the University of Padua.
He is the author of over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications, 32 book chapters, and three academic monographs, and is a regular speaker and moderator at international scientific conferences.
In addition to his academic work, he is deeply involved in social initiatives, serving as President and Vice President of nonprofit organizations supporting children with complex medical conditions.
